Pastor Renee Heywood
Renee has been in ministry for 22 years. She was a Deaconess at Mount Moriah Baptist Church in Brockton and acted as chairperson for 3 years. She has preached and led workshops at several African-American as well as Brazilian churches in the Massachusetts area. She has been in music ministry since she was a child, and became a professional Gospel singer at the age of 19 singing at weddings, funerals, conferences and directing a choir. In 2004, she travelled to Nicaragua to share the gospel in word and song to poverty stricken families and homeless children of Managua where God confirmed that her ministry would be bi-lingual.
She has led Youth Ministry and has counseled women and young adults for several years. She and her husband have been doing Marriage and Family ministry teaching classes, leading workshops and counseling. Renee and her husband have written a soon to be published book entitled, I said, “I Do” to All That?! – unpacking and healing from life’s baggage written for married and engaged couples.She also played Donette in a local gospel play entitled “Empty Mansion” and has appeared on local gospel television programs.
Renee is a Spanish teacher and Coordinates the Multicultural Services at a Christian School. She is the wife of Robert Heywood and mother of three children, Robert, Jr.,Richard, and Rhema .
